How to Use Pages

Pages are one of the simple building blocks you can use to organize content on your WordPress website. Pages are distinct from Posts in that they are static; they don’t change location based on publication date the way posts display in reverse chronological order.

This is an example page. It’s different from a blog post because it will stay in one place and will show up in your site navigation (in most themes). Most people start with an About page that introduces them to potential site visitors. It might say something like this:

Hi there! I’m the Vice President of the Technology Club and a Nursing major in my second year of courses. I enjoy anime, Thai food, and peonies.

…or something like this:

The Technology Club was founded in 2005, and has been providing quality doohickeys to the public ever since. Located in Goldenrod City, the Technology Club has over a dozen members and does all kinds of awesome things for the Goldenrod community.

Pages work well for content that won’t change much over time: your organization’s mission, founders, contact information, and other static content works well published using Pages.

Pages also allow you to use the whole suite of WordPress formatting and design blocks, so it’s easy to include multimedia, YouTube videos, text formatting, and other elements you might want to use to enhance the user experience of your site.

As a new WordPress user, you should go to your dashboard to delete this page and create new pages for your content. Have fun!
